Which format should I purchase?

Fonthead fonts can be purchased in one of four formats: Macintosh TrueType, Macintosh Postscript, Windows TrueType and Windows Postscript. If you are not sure which format is best for you, refer to the chart below.

TRUETYPE vs POSTSCRIPT:
TrueType   TrueType fonts are generally more widely supported among computer operating systems and are easier to use since they consist of only one file instead of Postscript's two. If you are unsure which format you need, TrueType is probably what you want.
Postscript   Postscript fonts are the industry standard for graphic design work. Most commercial printers/service bureaus require them over TrueType fonts. Postscript fonts consist of two files, a screen font and a printer font, which make them slightly more difficult to manage.

FONT FORMATS SUPPORTED BY EACH OS:
Macintosh OS X   Mac TrueType, Mac Postscript, Win TrueType
Macintosh OS 8 & 9   Mac TrueType, Mac Postscript (only if ATM* is installed)
Windows 95, 98, NT 4   Win TrueType, Win Postscript (only if ATM* is installed)
Windows 2000, XP   Win TrueType, Win Postscript
